Be 1% Better Every Day

It’s a lazy Sunday night. Just like every night before going to bed, you start reflecting on your weekend.

You suddenly realize that a lot of golden hours were wasted. Slowly, the anxiety rush kicks in, and that familiar feeling of regret creeps up. Sounds familiar? I’ve been there too…

Now, you’re lying there, feeling bad for being so unproductive.
But then, a spark lights up in your eyes. You decide to take things seriously. There’s an instant shift in your mindset. You go back to your study desk, grab your day planner, and start scribbling down the tasks for the next day.

Feels different, right?
You start imagining your best self. Things get clearer, and a small smile appears on your face. A mix of relief and motivation washes over you.

You tell yourself, “This time it’s different. I will achieve my goals.”

But then… after having a long day at work, you come home, devour an entire cake, and mindlessly scroll through social media for hours before falling asleep. You fail to complete even a single task you scribbled in your day planner the night before. Without even realizing it, you spend the entire week the same way, and once again, on Sunday night, you start reflecting on your weekend. That same feeling of regret creeps in, and the endless cycle goes on…

Ever experienced it? I have.

This is called the unproductive loop.

With our fast-paced lifestyles and easy access to instant dopamine, our ability to focus on long-term goals has diminished, especially when those goals offer delayed rewards rather than instant gratification.

We love to plan and imagine ourselves conquering tasks because it gives us that dopamine hit. But in reality, we rarely follow through. This becomes a habit—and sadly, every other person in society struggles with it. If you want to stand out and be better, you need to break free from this loop.

The Path You Need to Follow

It’s time to get disciplined and consistent. We cannot waste valuable hours on unproductive activities.

“If you cannot accomplish what you’ve planned, you cannot achieve what you’ve dreamt.”

Let’s shift gears. Here’s the strategy for you:

Be 1% Better Every Day

Yes, every day, try to improve by just 1%. Instead of making unbalanced decisions over short periods of time, focus on small, consistent decisions every day for the long haul.

A 1% improvement each day might not sound big, but it’s mathematically proven: if you start your improvement journey at zero on day one, by the end of 365 days—exactly one year—you’ll be 37 times better. This is the power of compounding.

You might only study for an hour a day, but doing it consistently while improving by 1% every day will skyrocket your growth, leaving the competition behind. You’ll reach an undisputed level simply by leveling up by 1%.

If you want to build a store, don’t dwell on the things you don’t know. Start with what you do know. Tackle one thing at a time, and each day, figure out one new aspect of your store. By the end of the year, you’ll have a beautiful shop generating income for you.

This is a challenge we need to take on ourselves in order to grow in any domain we desire.

The 30-Day Challenge

From theHustleWeek community, we challenge you to improve by 1% every day for the next 30 days. Follow these guidelines for better progress:
